Sommer Rabideau, MHC Intern
Sommer is a Mental Health Counseling Intern completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Healthcare Advocacy and Navigation from Utica University and is also a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Her background in mental health, healthcare advocacy, and integrative wellness has shaped her whole-person approach to counseling and her belief in the connection between mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Sommer specializes in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic illness, health-related anxiety, and major life transitions. She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals navigating the emotional impact of chronic health conditions and the complexities of the healthcare system. She recognizes that health challenges can extend far beyond physical symptoms, often affecting identity, relationships, independence, confidence, and a person’s overall quality of life.
Drawing from person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and strengths-based approaches, Sommer tailors therapy to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. She works collaboratively with clients to better understand patterns contributing to distress, develop practical coping strategies, strengthen self-awareness, and create meaningful changes that feel realistic and sustainable.
Sommer believes therapy should be a place where clients feel genuinely heard and supported while also feeling empowered to better understand themselves and their needs. By considering the whole person, not simply a diagnosis or set of symptoms, Sommer helps clients recognize their strengths, navigate difficult seasons, and work toward a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and aligned with what matters most to them.
