Maya virgil, MSW Intern
Master of Social Work, Intern
Maya Virgil is a Master of Social Work intern currently pursuing her graduate degree at Utica University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Child Life, which has shaped her strong foundation in supporting children and families through developmentally appropriate, compassionate care. As she continues her graduate training, Maya remains dedicated to expanding her clinical skills and deepening her impact in the field.
Maya utilizes a play-based therapeutic approach, meeting children where they are and creating a space where they feel safe, understood, and empowered. Whether she is engaging in imaginative play, creative expression, or meaningful conversation, she values building genuine connections and helping clients express emotions in ways that feel natural to them. Alongside play, Maya incorporates therapeutic techniques to support emotional regulation, coping skills, and overall well-being.
Maya is interested in working with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 3–20, as well as supporting parents and caregivers. She has a particular passion for helping children navigate transitions, anxiety, and developmental challenges, and strives to create a warm, engaging environment for every individual and family she works with.
